Bigfoot eyewitness reveals ‘unusual’ feature during beast sighting in Ohio

Todd Neese, founder of the American Primate Conservancy and a Bigfoot researcher for more than 30 years, explains why Ohio happens to be the site of fresh Bigfoot ‘activity’ recently.

“Ohio is actually, believe it or not, ranked number 4 of all the states in the United States that have sightings, so it isn’t really all that unusual. There seems to be a little pocket of them in them there woods, if you will,” Neese told a Fox News host.

His comments come as northeast Ohio sees a fresh wave of reported Bigfoot activity after a long lull in comparable encounters. Since March, reports have “been pouring in” across Portage County, with alleged sightings clustered between Akron and Youngstown — around 50 miles apart — alongside photos circulating online of massive footprints believed to measure about 17 inches long, suggesting a creature that could stand at least seven feet tall.

Some witnesses now claim the “animal” may not be alone, with speculation that an entire “family” of sasquatches could be roaming the area, according to Fox 9. Eyewitness descriptions have ranged from 6 to 10 feet tall, covered in dark fur, and moving upright on two legs.

One account described broad shoulders, “unusually long” arms, and even the sensation that the creature was so large it made the ground tremble.

Neese says he went from skeptic to believer after a close encounter during a military exercise in Oregon in 1993. In the interview with Fox News, Neese said he and three other soldiers were observed by “three of these creatures” for roughly 25 seconds — an experience he claims changed “the entire course” of his life.

“I was not interested in the subject whatsoever, and growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I did, it’s it it was part of the vernacular, but to me it was an urban legend, if you will. But all that changed for me in 1993 while conducting a military exercise in the Oregon Coast Range. I and three other soldiers were exposed to 3 of these, 3 of these, these creatures observing our exercises and those 25 seconds changed the entire course of my life,” Neese explained.

Describing what he saw, Neese said the figures didn’t look “all that human” up close, pointing to what he called disproportionate silhouettes — especially unusually long arms and leg proportions compared to a human torso.

“Well, not, not really all that human,” Neese described. “They, what I had observed was that they were, their silhouette, if you will, the, the was completely disproportionate in terms of the arm length and even the, the length of the legs as it pertains to a human torso.”

“Obviously, very large, the ones I saw, ranged between 7 to 9 ft in height. They do tend to have a more human-like face, but obviously just hair covered. Very large, very athletic,” said Neese.

Pressed on why, in a world filled with cameras, there still aren’t clear images, Neese argued it’s largely a matter of odds. “They’re just a very rare species, and so if you look at dispersing 1000, a million cameras out in the wild, it’s just the odds of getting one to fall just right through that particular picture zone is very, very difficult,” Neese explained.

Local researcher Mike Miller, co-founder of the Ohio Nightstalkers Bigfoot Research Group, has linked the rise in reports in the area to this year’s severe, storm-heavy winter, suggesting flooded habitat could push the creature into new territory and increase the chance of human encounters.

Miller also says he has recorded howling sounds he believes don’t match any “known animal in North America,” claiming some screams registered higher than a baboon on a spectrograph.

Another report shared by Bigfoot Society podcast host Jeremiah Byron included a hiker’s claim that the creature rotated its shoulders rather than its neck — a detail Byron called significant to serious Bigfoot followers.

The same witness described a strong, musky smell, a deep grunt-like noise, and said the encounter was so fast and unsettling that they backed away without approaching any closer. Despite the growing number of reports, no clear photograph has emerged so far.
